				SC Targa Guys - help with a measurement please
			 
			Could someone with an SC Targa give me the measurement between the upper suspension mounts. Inside lip to inside lip would be great.   Thanks.

			I just measured mine ('82 SC) and got exactly 36 inches.

			Thanks Guys.  My issue is that I have a '77 S Coupe that I'm swapping parts out to an '81SC Targa. The distance between the 77 is 36-5/8" and the 81 is at 35-3/4" (you guys are at 36").  Because of this, I have extreme negative camber in front-end and what appears to have no more adjustment.  Man, I'm really puzzled.

			The shorter distance will give you neg camber but only a 1/4" between both towers. I would try a little jacking with a strut brace or even a small hydraulic jack. How does your hood fit?

			johnsjmc, Hood fits good. Pushing it out a hair will not hurt the hood alignment and may do the trick with the camber. What puzzles me, is that the 77 is almost an inch wider but all parts for the front suspesion are the same for both years (according to PET). An inch of difference sounds like a lot to me, but alignment is not my expertise. I do have the car lowered in the Euro height area (f 25.5, r 25). If I raise it some, it should stand the tires up. These parts should be inchangable, correct?

			An inch is alot I was refering to the 1/4 " that the 82 varies from the 36 " posted. What measurement diff do you have from the fender edge to edge on both cars? If the towers have sagged I would expect the fender edge to move with them. Alignment is set by moving the shock in the tower top. If you run out of room on the sloted holes before you get your camber in spec then something has moved the tower tops as the bottom distance should remain set by the length of the crossmember.(If no bent parts from a collision )

			I measured both cars straight across over the top of the towers, in the middle. Both are right at 40-3/8".  Can the towers be pushed out without effecting the fender edge?  That might be all I need.  I know the 81 has been in some kind of front-end wreck.  I have replaced the front pan. It went in just fine and diagonally measured up good with rear cross tube and front suspension cross support piece.  The top of the struts are adjusted out as far as they will go.  The front suspesion from the 77 does not appear to be bent.

			As the front fenders are bolt on. I would loosen the fender edge bolts and spread the towers apart with a brace .Keep an eye on the fender /hood width..Hopefully when you tighten down the fenders they will keep the towers where you put them. The 911 is fairly stiff on the front end but the towers do move or there wouldn,t be such a big aftermarket in diff styles of shock tower braces.
