Does anyone have either some cut-away diagrams or some photos that they can show me on an SC where the items are located and a brief description of how they operate on conjunction with the other suspension components?

Have a look in the 911 Tech Articles section under Suspension. There are several articles that show torsion bar and sway bar work.
note: look in each article, not just the title and you'll find some good photo's and descriptions.

I did a search recently to learn how a torsion bar suspension system works and pulled up loads of good info. I was looking for conceptual stuff and came away some good links; highly recommend looking into the concept side of things.
