beauty and the beast (pics)

you know how sometimes you see a beautiful woman walking down the street... your eyes sparkle, your breathing goes faster... and then she turns around and... aahhhh... NOOoooo.. she is like a witch and is QQ years old (plug in the numbers)...

I get the same impression when I see a nice car only to look inside and to find the horror...

and then

look at those ugly screws holding the speedometer and all the loose wiring under the dash

more horror

nice body but...

:O wow, uhhhhhhhhh nice! Yikes. The part that gets me about stuff like this is, someone put a lot of work into making that car. Put that energy in the right places and he could have made a killer car, perhaps?

Cheers

looks to me like whoever owns that car would have liked to have a nice older Camaro rather than a Porsche.

bet it's a blast. big rowdy V8 light car. ...gotta be loads of fun.

I wouldn't spend the money on it but I'd love to beat on it.

wow.. wow.. hoho..
first 2 pics are nice. I hate the most is the eye looking thing under the dash.
But I like the car, is it works right. It's still a turbo 911 with the wheels I love. Also, a biggo v8 is fast and not expensive to maintain.
I bet it sound like thunder

I'm the camp that just doesn't get it. I love the throaty rumble of a V-8, and will have to add one to my garage some day. But even better than a V-8, is that high-pitched flat-6 sound which makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up from 3 blocks away. Why you'd want to ruin a 911 with anything else is beyond me.

Odd that the speedo only goes up to 120mph. Wonder what the donor for that was?

...it's just a nasty ass old hot rod. so what if it's got a v8 stuffed into it.

I wouldn't build it but I'd drive the snot out of it until I got tired of it. ...wouldn't pay more than about 7 or 8K for it either.

I am sure the owner has loads of fun, both working on and behind the wheel of what appears to be a fun car. Not my thing...but to each his own.

MADE YA LOOK, and even had him open the hood,
I give he guy credit, probably some 911 found dying on the side of the road.

BIG mistakes though, ducting out sides in the front,
Was a coupe, hence the side bars and lack of top latches.
Cast iron manifolds on a 350 GM maybe a 220 hp engine.

But its better to see it alive than dead, no matter what the engine. And to grab attention and get people bit by the bug.

GOOD FROM FAR, far from good. A++++ for effort, f for outcome

That car was just on eBay....and I saw it, very intriguing.

If the dash and wiring was cleaned up and the coolant spills md was converted over to TPI (at minimum) it would be a riot.
