Will ICruze from MonsterCable work with a 993 CD changer?

Hi,

Just bought a 993.....

Well, I own an IPod and Monstercable make this GREAT product called ICruze.....Basically if your car has a CD changer, you hook up ICruz (which holds your Ipod)....And then when you switch CDs on your stereo, ICruze switches to the ipods next Playlist....When you switch tracks on your stereo, it makes Ipod go to the next song of the selected playlist......

So you actually use your existing stereo to navigate through your Ipod...Awesome........

WAY cheaper than buying one of those expensive new head-units....It's a really elegant solution.....

Thing is that the MonsterCable site does NOT list Porsche........just wondering if it worx anyway..

Ohhh yeah...only 150.00!!

I gotta make this work ;-)

here is link

I don't know if the icruze will work, but an alternative is to buy the auxillary input for your Becker head unit. It's about $20 and plugs into the back of the radio where the CD changer typically plugs in. The downside is you can't have the auxillary input & a CD changer plugged in at the same time. You can order these directly from Becker by asking for the parts department. I have this in both my Boxster and the Traffic Pro head unit in my 911, and they work great. The only downside relative to your suggested solution is you can't control the iPod with the head unit, but at least you get a direct input.

I just checked out the Monster site and it states that you lose the functionality of the factory CD changer when you install iCruze. Check the support/FAQ section. You should look into icelink if you want to use your ipod and aren't concerned about not having the CD changer work.
