How to get rid of annoying squeeks from front end?

Previous owner recently installed turbo tie rods. I'm not sure if that is the cause as the car had a squeeky front end when I purchased it. Can someone direct me as to what the cause may be? Any suspension parts that need to be lubed? This is for an 85 Carrera...

pics with arrows will be great:D

Thanks in advance guys..

sounds more like sway bar bushings. a search here (forum below) should turn up pic's and how to replace them.

Do you know if the previous owner put in steering rack spacers (aka Bump Steer kit/spacers) when he put in the turbo tie rods? If he did, but did not adjust the steering U-joints after the install this could be the source of the squeak.

A louder sport muffler would help :-)

Could be torsion bars rubbing due to worn out bushings. Could be the hood release isn't holding the hood snug and its bumping up and down a bit causing a squeak. I doubt its spacers in the steering rack or the turbo tie rods. If you still have stock sway bars up front then spray the rubber bushings there with some kind of lubricant and see if it goes away.

Good advice, but if the squeak comes back you will likely need to replace the sway bar bushings. Lubing them is strictly diagnostic.

Here is how I fixed my squeak

I had a persistent squeak coming from my front end. It was the torsion bars rubbing. I got lots of advice from many members about different options but in the end the thing that fixed it was a simple spot weld to shore up a worn area down there. Do a search on squeaks and weld. There are some excellent posts that will give you the information to solve your problem quickly, easily and for hardly any money.
