Replacing "upper velvet seals"
Has anyone replaced the "upper velvet door seals"? What's involved in replacing these? Can you do it without taking the glass out?
Today I popped off the outer aluminum trim (no. 11) and replaced the squeegee seals (no. 9). In the process, I discovered the velvet seals (no. 7) underneath are beyond tattered. While replacing the squeegees was the easiest repair I have ever done, I suspect replacing the velvet seals is more involved...

they have a series of tits that pop into holes in the door. slip a putty knife or some other flat tool between the felt strip and door metal and up next to a tit and twist. installation is obvious, but some of the tits typically resist going into the holes.

No, you can do it without taking out the glass, I did it a few months ago.
It can be really frustrating though. One tool that I found really handy was a really thin flat set of wire strippers I had. I could get the end in there with them and position it side to side since I had a grip. After that pop them in with the putty knife or something else nice and flat.
