Question Odyssey 925 in early car battery box?

I've been using the Westco Miata battery for the past three years, but I haven't kept it charged up so it's prematurely weakening.

The one problem I have with it is that it's so tall that the positive teminal is wedged next to sheetmetal, protected just by the plastic boot. The dimensions are 7.5"Lx5"Wx7"H. Here's a pic (it's spaced out with foam, and could fit in much deeper):

So I'm thinking about replacing it with a shorter, wider battery like the Odyssey 925T which is 6.5"Lx6.75"Wx5.5"H.

Has anyone fit this battery in an early car battery box?

I have one in the driver's side. (single batt and the pass side box removed for oil cooler). Works great. I had to fab my own tie downs for it. I have it on the side with the posts facing toward the center of the car. I have gone 6 weeks without starting it and it cranks over every time.
