Fog lamp lens...gotta replace the whole thing?

If you look closely, you'll see that my fog lamp lens is broken. A cursory inspection reveals the unit is one-piece. Is this assumption correct? I can't replace "just the lens"?

Did a search in parts, but couldn't find a lens. This would be considered a "993" part, no?

I'm sorry, I was so amazed by the entire car that I did'nt notice a broken lens. Was that the same car for sale in Las Vegas not too long ago. It is beautiful.

Thanks for the compliment. The car came from TX and, according to my research, has been in TX since the early 90's.

Danny,I'm not sure, but you might have to replace the whole thing. I remember a friend who had a then new '87 complaining to me that he had to buy a complete replacement fog light. Evidently, the light was a complete moulded unit, not like the seperate pieces of the good old days when glass lenses were used.

I just replaced the foglight lens on an 89. The hardest part is finding one. Be careful as they are left and right side specific.

On a Carrera 3.2, the lens is glass and is replaceable as a separate part. I'm not sure what your friend was thinking....

In this case the fog light seems to be a complete assembly. I don't know of a source for just the lens.

They look to be like the driving lights on earlier cars (Euro 930S). Pretty much a one-piece sealed assembly.
