smells like gas in interior of car.
If i don't drive my car for a few days, when I get into it for a drive it smells like gasoline in the cockpit. Roll down the windows and drive off and it's gone. Checked the FI lines to the CIS- no leaks. No seeping onto the garage floor either. It's venting vapor from somewhere. ? Help appreciated.

Likely a problem with the fuel tank venting or gasoline vapor emission lines up front.

Good advise there.
I had the same problem a few years ago. In the trunk there was a tube that leads from the fuel filler to the gas tank ( as well as related tubes) that was old and letting small amounts of vapor leak out over time and eventually you smell it from the drivers seat. Good place to start looking anyway, let us know what happens. |
