I've searched on this but haven't come up with much:
Anyone have experience with Leda shocks/struts (preferrably the non-coil-over, non-external resevoir type)? (for '71 911 vintage racer) I got started on doing new, custom valved Bilsteins but the Leda adjustable stuff looks pretty interesting and considering I have to switch everything over from Konis, the price is comparable. Any info (aside from the Leda/Racer's Edge site)? E |

I've got the basic single adjustable, non-reservoir ones, but I'm not a racer. I also price-compared with RSR Bilsteins, which seem way overpriced for what you get. Now that the £ is weakening a bit against the dollar, the Ledas might be an even better deal.

What made you choose single adjustable?
How about your torsion bars, how stiff are they and do the struts "keep up" with those (I'm worried about maxing out the adjustment with my 23/30 torsions)? |

Price, mostly. I wanted adjustability to properly match to the bars. I figured with Bilsteins + install + test + remove + guess + revalve + install, the price would quickly exceed the Ledas.
I'd run the basic Ledas in a ProRally car, and the only problem I ever had was fading them out at the end of a long twisty, bumpy stage. 22F/28R with 22/22 sways. For street use, I'm 8 clicks (33%) off full soft in front and 10 clicks (42%) off full soft in back and it feels perfectly matched. But you should absolutely tell them your spring rates and they'll valve them to match. Leda builds them to order, so you get to specify valving, length, and spindle position. |

I may be locked into the Bilsteins in the front. If I am, is it crazy to try using the Ledas in the rear?

My 911 has Bilstien RSR front struts, and Koni 3012 8 way adjustable rear shocks..
So not really crazy. I do plan on having the RSR struts modifies to accept a Koni adjustable insert once my employment situation becomes rosier

You should call Racers Edge, they are the a US distributor for Leda and can probably answer all of your questions.

Cory, you are right and I will but I wanted to check the board first as I don't anticipate RE to say, "Oh, just go have your Koni's rebuilt, it'll be cheaper and better." I'm not saying they'll oversell things but they do have to make money...
