Question Spare tire for cars with upgraded brakes?

Anyone running a larger 16" spare tire due to upgraded brake calipers? My soon to (if i get around to it) 993 calipers will render my existing spare a paper weight.

maybe a 964 spare with a spacer?

I thought about the times I have actually used a spare - on any car for that matter....I carry a cell phone and lose all that weight associated with carrying one.

I'm not concerned about losing weight while driving on the street and I could simply rely on AAA if I wanted to go the no spare route.

I would prefer to have a spare available to use.

I'm in the same boat with my 930 brakes. I could use a 944 T spare which seem to be spendy or I think I could use 993 or possible 964 spares. I'd think the 993 spare would work for you but I don't know. 993 spares can be found pretty easily on ebay I think for not too much $.

Yup, i think thats the route to go. Im just curious as to if a spacer is required (i assume so) and what size. the spacers may cost more than the spare unfortunately.

or if someone has come up with an 'el cheapo' solution. (other than none )

Craig911 had a thread a while back about this. He used a 996T spare I think. (930 with big reds)

If you needed a spacer, I'd think it would be very thin, the $20ish 1/4" spacer would be enough I'd think.
