Renting a 911 in Ca.
I was thinking of renting a 911 to drive the coast in California this month or next. Can anyone suggest a reasonably priced rental outlet that could supply a 911 or something similar for a week?

Also try Budget Rental Car in Beverly Hills. They usually have a Porsche or two on their lot with their other exotics.
And you are kidding about the "reasonable" part, right? A new 911? I'm sure you're talking about a couple hundred bucks a day. And make sure you've got enough room on your credit card limit when you go to rent because they'll put down a relatively enormous deposit just in case you take your vacation South to Mexico. ![]()

I guess a Mustang or Mini convertible might be more practical...

Budget Beverly Hill has a Boxter for $250 per day.
I have a friend that rented a diablo though an independent exotic rental place and he hit a 2x4 on the freeway. They really tried to take him to the cleaners for the repair and also stick him with a burned out clutch on the car as well. I would only go with the big name rental places. There are a few in BH that have some cool cars.

Where exactly are you starting from? There's a place in San Diego that rents out Lambos, Ferraris, Porsche, Maserati, they even have an "affordable" Lotus Elise. They have a weekly rate but I think they also charge you mileage, the Carrera S is $3500/week, could be a very expensive roadtrip.
http://www.sandiegoprestige.com/showroom.php I thought about getting a few friends together and trailering (to conserve miles) the Lambo to a test day at Willow Springs, then we could take turns flogging it around the track, but something tells me they have thought of this and written the contract to prevent it... |
