Angry Help me over this hurdle

Well guys I need a bit of encouragement here. I bought this car this summer to have a solid tub to replace an overly rusty '76. A p-car body shop advertised it as rust free, and I just trusted them STUPID, STUPID, STUPID, I know. I've beaten myself up about for weeks now, so if you don't mind try and keep negative comments to a minimum. I am really trying to move forward. Typically I work on my car for a couple hours a day, but since I found this, I have not touched it in almost a month. I am really just destroyed at this point, and don't know what to do to move forward. What process can I take to make this right? I don't want to re-bondo it as this car will hopefully be with me for a long long time. So do I have to look for a front clip to have welded in here or what?

Drivers Side fender

You can even see that battery in there! ! !

And the Passenger side would not be left out of the party:

Could this be from an accident? Or is it just caused by water that got on top of the bumper mounting bracket and rusted it out? I really need something positive to come out of this somehow. Any help, advise, guidance, or support would be greatly appreciated.

Rich

Well on the positive side, it could be worst, you could have rust on every panel, look at it as a car the had a collision in the front driver side. Replace the front clip or get some sheetmetal and replace that peice of rusted metal out.

Do a seach under my user name. I have done this repair very recently. I bought a front section of a tub from Parts Heaven and cut out the pieces I needed.
The tub piece was 300.00 and worked out perfectly.

that rust comes from the bump shock mounts. they hold all the dirt and mud up on top and with time........

if you need any help PM
Here is the thread.
me.Rust near battery - how bad is this?

Sorry to see that Rich. Any chance of going back to the body shop and asking to make it right for you? Or at least providing some motivating compensation?

That rust spot buy the shock tower is from the windshield washer hose. Being clamped to the body to hold more crud.
I got that piece from PH also.

Thanks for the link Ron, and it is good to see that others have been down this road and come out successfully. That is probably the best information that I could have recieved. I'll do a search and see how the process gets done, and try to get this thing back on the road in a couple years.
