Question Seat Fit

Hello,

I have been reading a few of the recent posts regarding seat fit for tall folks with helmets. I have the same issue, but a slightly different question.

I would like to get some new seats, or at a minimum a driver's side seat just for the track. Something with good bolstering, moderately comfortable, and workable with regular seatbelts but eventually a harness.

My question is this. Where can you go to actually put your butt in these seats? I know there are a few good manufacturers out there, such as Recaro, Sparco, Corbeau, etc... but do regular racing shops carry these that you can sit in them before you buy them? I admit that I have not looked, since I don't frequent the shops that typically cater to Ford, Chevy and Dodge or Japanese accessories, but I know a lot of you have bought aftermarket performance seats. How did you know which ones to get without sitting in them first?

Any help would be appreciated.

JA
