This was also posted on the 944 board. Apparently they overlookled two Ferraris and took this car.

It was probably faster than the Ferraris if it does have a 3.0 in it.

If you check out his website you'll see that this car was quite special. It was taken from his garage. The worst part is......he's my neighbor. I'm looking at the chimneys on his house from my window.

He is truly broken up over this. Hope someone runs accross the car.

let's face it , there are gps/gsm black boxes on the market
they go from anywhere between 400 to 2000 euro

all you do is plug a sim card in em , with prepayed calling credit

program the sucker so it sends a text message to your own cell phone when it's turned on , and moves after beeing turned on

no subscription service required or anything

it moves, you get the police ready
if it stops moving , go online, punch in the numbers in to get a map
and you have a 20x20 meters search area

done

chances are the crooks will be long gone
as they too have figured out that trackers exist
so they leave parts cars relatively undamaged alone for a specified time after the theft...

these guys want parts, and they don't want to be caught red handed with a thrashed car, so the move fast&clean, in/out, and have the selfrestraint to let the hot piece of hardware cool off
