registration fees
I'm curious what 911 owners are paying for vehicle registration in their home state. I just registered my '85 Carrera for $23.50 in Iowa.

some states have personal property taxes - so separate that out -- often confused

Anybody on the East Coast? I've heard of some horrendous registration fees in New England, like a thousand bucks a year for a late-model whatever.

Mine runs about 130.00 every year on my 86 which is based on the orginal selling price of 44,000.00 not what I paid for it as it used to be until we got this Dyke in the Governor's Mansion, now if Ted Nugent really runs and wins this may change??

Just paid it, $110 for my 86 in California.
Not to hijack, but Randy Webb, what's the property tax rate there in Oregon? |

There isn't one on cars. I forget what the registration is here, but it's absurdly low. I grew up in Louisisana & it used to be in the State Constitution (!!) there and set at $3. Probably somethin' ol' Huey Long did. Think they changed it in the '80's...

$86 for the '84 last November. Why are the California fees all over the place?

Dave the California fees are dependent on how much you paid for the vehicle. Then they have a depreciation scale they follow each year.
Randy I should have clarified, I meant real estate property taxes. Everyone in California always says " yeah there's no sales tax in Oregon, but they kill you with property tax." Just wondered, because I would like to retire there someday. |

When a vehicle is gifted in California, you have to declare a value. Obviously many people fib. Then your registration rate is based on that amount, just as if you had purchased it.
