3.6euro RS in a midyear - whats it worth?
Hi all,
Considering this car and wondering what you think it might be worth......all work done within last few years and driven very little since. Lower miles 92 - 3.6 RS transplant , lightened fly wheel, racing clutch, headers, chip and rebuilt tranny, upgraded brakes. Body completely stripped and repainted original color with widened wheel arches Front mounted oil cooler Complete new interior - dash, RS door panels, leather cobra racing seats, full cage, racing harness, momo steering wheel Complete new suspension - shocks, sway bars, turbo tie rods, spring plates, etc The owner says he has over 50,000 into it... Any feedback would be appreciated. Last edited by speedracer; 01-14-2006 at 10:22 PM.. |

You usually don't get more than 50% back of what you put into a car. Cars like this are nice and a small number of potential buyers. They are not race cars and will need more money to make them competitive and the modifications make them a compromised street car. This works in your favor when negotiating a price. I'd take the local market price for 92 and add one 25% of what he has put into it.

Depends who the buyer is. If that is what you want and it is all done exactly how you want it, why not pay $35k for $50k worth of hardware and labor? I love how my car turned out, but would have bought someone else's complete, had it met my every desire (or most). I couldn't find the right car for me, so I built my own.
What's it worth to you? If you were going to build it anyways, why not spend more than someone's 50%, 25%, xxxx formula? If the timing was right, I would have bought Rattlesnak's car for $32k, maybe more depending upon the quality of the paint. It would have cost me more than $40k to build his car. Doug
