Wind Deflector Support - Hinge
This time not a mystery...rather a lead in to a supply of new manufacture exact equals - if anyone is interested.
Know what it is and where it goes? Cheers~! Jim http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y18...CREENHINGE.jpg |
That's not a gizmo, it's a doo-hickey.
|
It is the slack adjuster for the pivot stress pin, a critical component of the muffler bearing.

Excellent~! TRE Cup has nailed it~!
Not to say the other responses weren't fun - because they were! Yes - these beauties are brand new Sun Roof Wind Deflector Support Hinges~!! The gizmos that bind, break and wear out at the hinge point. Usually that requires doing without that section of wind deflector or buying an entire wind deflector section - usually used and worn. I have available new machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and electro polished. Not cheap - but lots less than the wind deflector assemblies. |
Darnit, Dave beat me to it. That's a great idea. You have to purchase the entire assembly if one breaks. Ask me how I know...
How much are they apiece? |
I should have pricing info within a day or so.
I'm hesitant to price based on the initial 50 pc run: I'm hoping follow on production pricing will be much better. We'll sell the initial run at cost if there is a meaningful follow-on cost reduction. Of course, I'm uncertain at this point whether demand, even over some time, will exceed the initial 50 pcs, and to what degree... I'll be back as soon as I have some figures. Thanks for you interest! |
Goldrunner- any updates on this?
|
Production costs received and were not any better. Item is qute complicated to machine...
These are concurs quality. I currently have around 50 pcs available: $ 37.45/each jimd@transpec.com |
PM and e-mail sent.
Thanks, Mike |
Any hinges left, or does anyone know where i can get them?

@Mike, thanks. I just emailed him now;-)

Not to be a spoiler here.....but I experimented with holding the wind deflector down.....or letting it function as intrended extended....and found no meaningful difference in buffeting. Anyone else notice this ?
