Unhappy Repair time for front seal leak?

It looks like I may have a front seal leak on my 3.2 engine. I was wondering how many job hours does it normally take for repair. Thanks in advance

front, as in how the engine sits in the car, would be the flywheel end. is that correct? at home, maybe 4-5 hours in and out, if you're mechanically inclined and have the proper tools.

John, that's correct. My mechanic and I noticed oil on the inside of the fan housing; he noticed down below that there was some oil, but no place else. There is no oil on the ground where I park my car.

We have this backwards. Flywheel is in the front near the driver. You have an oil leak in the back of the engine near the rear bumper if the fan housing is getting loaded with oil.

Clean the engine and find your leak. There are 1,476 places oil can leak (and squirt) on the rear (bumper side) of the engine. Doubt it is the seal for the crank near the fan housing.

Bob,

I'm going to clean it tomorrow; however, the only oil other than a drop or two down low on the right side (looking at the engine) was really inside the fan housing. We were looking at the physical front of the engine closest to us; I'm still in a WRX mode most of the time, so fan = front. I'm bring the car in to him after Daytona (he's got some cars running there) to do some other work (install turbo tie rods, M&K muffler and cat bypass, SW chip, possible some new bushings in the front). He'll drop the engine, and "while we're in there" change out the ripped sound pad.
