First Barrett Jackson Porsche - '91 C2 Targa $38,880.
LOT 65 1991 PORSCHE 911 CARRERA 2 TARGA $38,880.00
Plus $3110 in buyer's fees and that's almost $42K! Searching the Auto Trader online I found a 56K mile 91 Targa advertised for $26K. This SC will be interesting: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1137565879.jpg |
Damn speculators and collectors take all the fun and affordability out of driving old cars.

Don't forget ... the seller also pays an 8% Commission and the original consignment fee. At those rates I'm not sure "BJ" is short for Barrett-Jackson |

There's a lot to like about that car, but that's a lot of money to pay for a car with that color combination. Is that an original paint scheme? Yuch!

I try to look at it in a different but still positive attitude:
When the bottom falls out and the speculators and collectors move on to the next big thing. There will be a bunch of afordable well maintained low milage fun cars back on the road. When Dad was working at a Ferrari shop in the 70's he saw the same thing happen. It is at least a hope. |

On Wed. they sold a 1987 Guards Red 930 with 62,000 miles for $30,000 USD. They said car could have used a day in the detail shop.
|
They just sold a 930 with an after-the-fact slant-nose for $50K. There were several things that looked off on the front end... and if they're visible on TV I have to wonder what it looked like in person.
|
agreed - aftermarket front spoiler - non factory optioned - $50k was a gift
