'87 930 Turbo Charger

I have a 100% stock 1987 930. What turbo charger do I have? Is it a KKK turbo charger? I thought it was something that starts with an L. LD something maybe? So that brings me to my next question. What is better a K27 or a KKK? I know a K29 is even better but I don't want to go there yet.

I think KKK is the maker, and the K in fron of the K27 or K29 designates the maker.

Stock unit is 3LDZ made by KKK.

K27 is a KKK unit as well.

KKK is now owned by Borg Warner.

Search a little here and you'll find more info than you want...

the OEM is a turbo called the "3LDZ" and it was made by a company called "KKK"

KKK makes a variety of turbochargers..

the k27 and the k29 are both made by "KKK"the company

The turbo you have is a K-26, K-27 is the next step up.
KKK makes all the turbos you mentioned.
The K-29 would be too big for a stock 930, there are several
other race units K-28s, K-29,K-30s.
Garrett makes some hot turbo's, I run them on my car.

I believe this is a common misnomer...the stock 930 turbo is a 3LDZ, no relation to a K26. I'm sure someone will spank me if I'm mistaken, though.
