How is Bob Anziano work?
 

I love my car even though I am not a kid anymore. I've been loving my cars since.. can't remember when. It seem that I always want to do something with my cars when I have time even though people say "if it doesn't break, don't fix". Somtimes instead of fixing it, I breaking it after all.

Well, my current car need somethings done to be perfect but I almost never have time to touch it. (perfect is not perfect as new or perfect to everyone but perfect as "perfect" for me)

Today, we decided to take a break from working and together, we go do some shopping for the family. To make the story short, after got home, I still have couple hours before it get dawn so I decide to have a little time alone with my baby. Even though I've been driven it daily, but this is different. Start the engine, sat there and hear it sing. ahh.. I love my baby voice. I can just sit there for hours even though everyone think I am out of my mind, sometimes... Then I start to let it sing while I step around and start checking things. One thing after another. At the end, I found an engraved on the engine case, actually on the base of the fan case, said "BOB ANZIANO 1989". The car is 1987. Base on the previous owner, the engine is 1988.

Who is Anziano guys? How is his work? I did some search and found people mentioned his name while they talk about body work. Does he do any engine work? If he did the body work on my car, why engraved on the engine part? Well, just wonder. So this guy exist since 1989 or earlier huh. He must be good by now.

Bob Anziano does body mods and restorations. He did a lot of 80's slant nose mods. Nice guy.

Since then the bulk of his work has been custom aero body kits and special one-offs for customers.

I don't recall him ever doing mechanical work however.

P.S. I noticed your signature says "1987 911 carrera widebody" if it wasn't a factory option car then Bob probably did it.

Bob does nice work and is well known for his speedster, custom speedster and Strosek speedsters.

Anziano of Bad Boys did an awesome paint work on my car. It was the smoothest paint finish I have ever seen.

I even did the flourescent test (which most painters would say as an unfair lighting condition to check the finish of a car). His finish was almost like glass and not a single speckle, dust traces, you name it!!!!!

Search the web (which I did). He also had a bunch of magazine writeups.

I believe he is considered a 'specialist'. This means he ain't cheap.

My paint isn't that great now, still nice. Probably it was redone by someone else after his work. Or maybe he wasn't that great in 89? :)

Anziano's Bad Boys Customs has been around for a while. He did a black mega-widebody 993tt a few years back that was just incredible to look at with performance to back it up.
Is your 911 a cab? Looks like the motor mount bar has the cab strut on it.

Sorry, no pix. The car was featured in Excellence a few years back. If memory serves, the fenders on the stock bodied 993tt were cut off and widened 2" to accommodate 335mm wide rear tires. Motor was boosted 100HP. The car was sent to Central or South American owner after the write up was finished.

Anziano's use to do engine modifications back in the 80's and 90's here in Orange County before he got big with his body mods. I don't think he does engine mods anymore, but at the time they did really good work and were expensive.

umm.. my friend and I always wonder what I have under that hood there. The car run diff from normal. Pull stronger and more agressive then all other car I drove when I look for my car. The intake is polish and few other things are little diff. His name is engraved on the engine case with "89". Wonder if he has record of any of his work. Well, better call him up, hope fully he has something left.
