removing fikse center caps
Hey all
I have a set of fikse's a tire shop is trying to mount, and they claim they cannot remove the center cap. They are afraid to even try... do they just pop out, ie block of wood and a rubber hammer from behind? any tips? -DMA

Take either a hammer handle or a dowel and smack them out. They are a very tight rubber seal, but the do come out. Place a towel on the other side for them to land on.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I think it's time to find a new tire shop, these guys whine too much, and charge $40/ea mount/balance for "racing wheels". vs. $20/ea for "regular" wheels. Doesn't seem to matter that I told them they are for a street car.
