Early external oil t-stat question

I am slowly amassing parts to add an external oil cooler to my car and I have a line on a new old stock external oil thermostat. The part number is 911 107 015 00. I looked it up on the Pelican website and it comes up as a regulator. My question is will this work with the Elephant racing lines I am planning to order? Is the new thermostat (930 107 017 00) just a superceded part number? Thanks for any insight.
Joe

Any thoughts? Should I just pass on this one and get the late model one?

Call Chuck Moreland @ Elephant for your one-stop shop. I just finished an install with his complete kit. All I had to purchase other than his kit was $10 worth of hardware. Very painless.

That thermostat was a 'one-off' model, strictly for the '73 model, just as the '72 model was ... and it hung off the oil tank scavenge line inlet fitting! I'm sure it can be used, but a bit of fabrication and adapting may be needed.
