Some advice requested re: 73 911T Targa w/3.0
I am looking at a 73 911T targa with no pan/floor issues, decent paint, and a 3.0 SC mill with 55k on the engine, 83k on the car overall. brakes need to be rebuilt, targa top reskinned, interior needs help. runs, shifts etc fine. some minor other misc cosmetics (mirrors, front grills etc) need attention. Engine swap and updating done by a reputable local shop.
What is a ballpark fair price for something like this?

I would estimate $7-10K depending on the condition of the engine (do leakdown and compression tests), transmission, pans, suspension, etc. Are there any records of the work done to the car?
A 73 targa with an engine transplant and a rough interior is not going to be a collectors' car so you should make sure that YOU are going to enjoy this car to the maxmimum and that it is going to run well.

that's kinda what I figured. Asking price is in the low $6's...I'm gonna offer $5500 tops.
I would assume the shop that did the work has some records, they are a massachusetts pcar shop with a solid rep and long history. We'll know more this weekend.

Early cars with late motors are VERY fun! At that price, buy and enjoy!
