I love my 911!

I just had to express myself. Cruising into work this clear crisp morning, I just really love to drive my Porsche!

I just parked mine for the winter (it was 17deg here this AM). My last drive was thrilling but painful.

I'm fixing the heater fixed (rear blower motor, flapper hoses to exhcnagers etc) in mine so I can drive it through a good portion of the Chicago Winter coming up.

I've just started driving mine after five months on jackstands, tranny surgery, suspension freshening and some other stuff. I had forgotten how incredibly thrilling it is to drive these things. They are truly the ultimate drivers. Nimble, obedient, responsive, beautiful to listen to. Few women can hold a candle to her.

last time i drove mine was at Infineon raceway. never ever did i fully understand the 911, maybe i still dont. but one word; predictable! i love it.

my girlfriend told me last night. she told me she loved me, knows me well enough that i am a car aficianado, and nothing can change that. she loves my 911, but gave me the green light to go ahead and buy a more modern, reliable sportscar. get this, her two choices. M3 or subaru STi. i ended the conversation, by saying "cant i just take the money and upgrade the 911?" her eye rolling showed me, that she just doesnt get it. but i am working on her.

It is funny that with my last vehicle I hated the drive into work and now I wish it were longer ...

I have a 78 mile drive to work, which I love in my SC, but my heat exchangers are shot and I don't want to beat up the paint with the salt and fine gravel they use on the mountain roads around here, thus she's parked til Spring. I'm driving an older Audi 90 Quattro 20V now. Not my 911 for sure, but still fun.

Planning on driving 3.5 hrs up into the north country of New York state this morning to see the alma mater. And pickign up a jack in Utica NY as there are no Harbor Freight stores nearby. Excited like a kid before christmas that I get to spend 3+ hours in my car. Never fails to get me like that.

Boss is gone for the day, not about to start a new project today.
guess I'll take a little drive myself.
Have discovered many cool bakeries, and cafes in far away locations thanks to my 911.

I smile every time I pull into my driveway in my Chevy Tahoe daily driver, open the garage door and - there she is!

I just love that rear view with those (sort of) fat 245's on the ground and that very 80's whale tail staring back at me. I have to give it a little pat every time I walk by it.

Driving mine in about 45 min to the shop, in scattered snow showers (light a candle for me) for tranny surgery.

I feel for all you guys that have to put your babies away for the winter. I'm just about to get Stinky driveable, and will be driving her hopefully a lot over the cooler months down here, as long as the weather is not inclement.

We hit 35 degrees the other night, and if we have a mild winter down here, that will probably be one of the coldest nights. Even during cold winters, the worst I've seen was 25-27 degrees, and only once in the last few years has it gotten that cold and STAYED that cold for a few days.

Sometimes we'll be in the 80s in December then sometimes hit the 90s in February, but most of the time the afternoons are nice and cozy in the 70s with cool nights in the 40s.

That's why you should make a 911 THE daily driver. More smiles per gallon!!!

My baby has been out of commission for three weeks due to an accident. I hope to get her back from the body shop next week....the anticipation is killing me. My 50 mile commute each day just hasn't been the same in the rented Saturn Ion

One thing I like about the 911 community is that almost no 2 are alike and everyone (almost) customizes to some extent. My '78SC is triple black (wow there is an unusal combo), but I have silver paddled 7" and 8" fuchs with gold porsche side script and I painted the SC emblem on the decklid gold too. As we have seen on the board there are a bazillion variations on the theme.

I have only been teased by my black beauty. I got to drive her for half of one summer then the head studs pulled in the 2.7 so I stole a fresh 3.0 with webers ($2,250) I drove her to the local hooters and on the ride home poped all the head studs in the 3.0 but thanks to Pelican Parts forums I have a new set of studs and a two week date with her in December !

I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!

We go into our garages in the evenings, just to check on her. We peek in and see those hips, and smile. The others don't understand. Somebody might suggest we're out of milk, and we quickly volunteer to go to the store, even though it's only two blocks.
