Need Help decoding options on my 73
 

I have a 1973 T that I am restoring to show condition and I just recieved the build sheet from Porsche. Here is what it says and my questions about it.

1973 911 TE coupe. what is the meaning for the E ?

Options: What was included in them?

US Equipment.

Light Metal Wheels. are these fuchs?

Antenna, Loudspeaker & Noise suppression. what exactly was included?

Comfort Package.

Green Tinted Glass. some what self explanatory

Comfort package means those crazy (hydropnuematic) front struts (there are no torsion bars!) and, I think, 14" Fuchs.

US equipment + US smog and DOT crash devices, i.e., your rubber bumper pads. Lighting is different too.

Here is a quote from a PCA site: "A type of front suspension which uses compressed gas and hydraulic fluid rather than springs as the suspension method; used by Porsche in the front of the 911E (1969-1973) in an effort to provide more comfort."

I have a collection of several sales brochures for the 1973 model with the 1973.5T in mind (my model). The only differences in the bodies between the "T" "E" was the added front apron on the "E" model. The "T" stood for "Touring" and the "S" for "Sport". I do not know what the "E" was. Options on the "T" and the "E" were: Air-Conditioning, electric windows, electric sunroof and full leather interior. The "S" body trim could be added to the "T" or "E" (aluminum door sills and chrome wheel well trim). Cookie Cutter Wheels and Fuchs were both available on the "T" and "E" models. I believe the cookie cutter style was standard issue. I have a restored 1973.5T with CIS with the "S" trim options, factory AC and sunroof. Seats though are vinyl and the bench type. My "T" does not have a front spoiler.

The TE designation meant it was a USA car with an MFI 'T' engine with yellow engine shroud ... delivered before 1 January 1973. All 1973 911T cars delivered on or after 1 Jan 1973 were TK engined cars with CIS [K-Jetronic] fuel injection and black engine shroud.

The lack of any notation about a 5-speed transaxle would imply that it had the 'standard' 4-speed 915 transaxle! Highly unusual, since most dealers ordered 5-speeds as a matter of habit!

Were the engine and transaxle serial numbers included on the Certificate of Authenticity?

The "E" stands for Einspritzung, which is the German Word for Injection, or in this case MFI.

Early S man The certificate of Authenticity gave an engine number but stated that no transaxle # was recorded.
If "Light metal wheels" means fuchs what size would they be? It has 15x6 all around now.
It was built on 9/29/1972 and is an MFI motor with yellow engine shroud. It does not have hydropnuematic shocks.
