Info on this car? ebay 69S, TRE, etc

A friend of mine is thinking about bidding for this car:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4608500181&viewitem=&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

(Item number: 4608500181 in case the link doesnt work)

i realise this is very last minute as bidding ends in a day, but does anyone have any info on this car? the ad says that work was done at TRE, so i was hoping Tyson or someone else might be able to chime in. I don't know if it's possible to schedule a PPI at this stage, but am trying to get in touch with the seller as well.

thanks in advance, Evren

Dave B. (TRE Cup on this forum) can give you a lot more info on the car, but I remember seeing it at TRE when it first came in. The car was pretty ragged out from years of club racing. It was straight and all there, but it had a pretty intensive roll cage, harnesses, fire suppression, fuel cell, etc. in it. IMHO not acceptable for driving anywhere. TRE did a pretty fantastic job bringing the car up to snuff. The hood has been repainted because, as I recall, the paint was in disasterous shape with a series of different racing numbers faded into the finish.

The person in the earlyS thread saying it's a shame it was sanitized didn't see it when it came into TRE, the car wasn't in presentable condition at all and some of the work done over the years was questionable at best. IMHO TRE put the car right and restored it to its original glory, without ruining its character.

But, if you're interested, definately PM Dave B.

Note the engine case is not original (it has a later 7R case).
