A/C question
IS it possible to put an A/C kit on a 911 that doesn't have one before?
Anyone did it? About electric system, is it too difficult? Thanks guys Pierre |

Yes. Yes. Expect to spend probably around US$2000. Electrical part is relatively straightforward.

Just curious, why would you want AC in Montreal? Isn't it cold enough for you anyways? Plus the added weight to slow you down.

Global warming.:D

I decided on a trailer this year for DE's so I could travel in comfort and with A/C. I guess you don't get much humidity in Michigan??? |
Well no,
it's only -30 right now. Seriously, I have one for sale. The buyer, doesn't have one on his car, so. I think is gonna be very hard to install, and a lot of wiring everywhere. I wonder if all porsches have holes and wiring ready to receive the a/c ? |

How much should I'll get for the A/C, (Complet kit).
In working order! Pierre ( montreal ) |
Probably $200 US is tops. Check the classified board for prices. If you can sell locally it is tres bon as those parts are heavy!
|
OK,
But I still wondering for the guy who's gonna work to put it on his car. Tony, any pics of your Pcar? Pierre (montreal) |
having trouble loading a picture. I'll try again later.

Lucky guy! Tony, your Pcar is super. Look pro on track. Wish I could try that next summer. Pierre (montreal) |
Hi Pierre...I am living in Montreal area too.I removed all the A/C system components from my 84 Carrera. All the parts I removed are in several box and ID tagged. may be I can sell it...send me a PM if you are interested...Syl

Hey Syl,
I appreciate. Send me your email address please. Here's mine mirapierre@distributel.net Pierre |
Pierre,
Anticipate 40 hours for reasonable installation of a good working system. In addition to buying a used "complete" system, depending upon the year of the body you may need to locate a good used "Behr" brand knee pad ac vent panel, and you'll need a new receiver drier and barrier hose set to match your system. There are some good posts on the PP here for you to read. Griff |
Thanks Griff,
what with the electric system, relay and wiring? Is it very complicated? Pierre |
Don't mean to jump on your thread but, i have an 1980 911SC and i want to get rid of the A/C, does this affect the value of the car when i go to resell? If you want mine you can have it!
|
Any pics, my new best friend?
And I don't think it change the value of the Pcar. If your car is mint, a/c or not. Are you far of montreal? Pierre ;-) |
