Anyone dealt with the "stuff" at the bottom of the doors?
sorry..this posted to the wrong forum...anyone know how to delete a post?
My 944 has this also..some kind of anti-corrosion or anti-chiping substance put on the metal before it is painted? Runs along the bottom of the doors and continues front and back to the fender wells. On my 928 it started to detach from the door bottom, I was wondering if anyone knows how to repair it or strip it off completely? Eventually i will be stripping this car (with chemical stripper) and repainting so I wonder if that will take it off? maybe heat? I really don't like the look of it, but if repair is easier I would gladly do that...anyone else have this problem?

I don't know the exact manufacturer that Porsche uses for their product but Wurtz makes a product called Body Schutz that is exactly like the undercaoting material you are talking about.
I think POR-15 is another brand. Last edited by bluesky; 08-10-2007 at 12:19 PM.. |

I don't know about 928s or 944s, but the 911 has Valvoline Tectyl undercoating since around 1970, per Paul Frere.
