compression ratio question

Is there a way to determine the compression ratio from the serial #s on mahle piston sets?

Jack.

Just beware that Mahle is a little "challenged" when it comes to supplying accurate CR info......

What year and model engine are we talking about? Pistons I have here are clearly marked on the underside of the dome as "E." which is what they are. Now to determine whether they are 2.2 or 2.4 E (different CR's) I think the wrist pin height gives that away.

Anyway, if you know the application, you can simply check the specs for that motor. Right? Or maybe your situation is a little more complicated. Give us some more clues. :D

Situation is, '82 3.0 motor rebuilt to "euro spec" . When it was originally built the head studs were not replaced, and now two are broken. Pistons are out and wanted to verify that they are the 9.8 c/r euro pistons that was stated.

Thanks for your help.
