Houston Shop Needed

I'm looking for a Houston shop to perform some maintenance on my 89 C4. I've seen the recommendations for Rennsport and Protechnik, but I'm not sure a race shop will want to do my kind of work. For instance, I'm hesistant to ask a race shop to figure out the rattle inside my driver side door, but I do need new brake pads and some mechanical issues sorted out (see below).

Can anyone recommend a good shop in Central or SW Houston? As a non-mechanical person, I'm looking for the good, honest shop recommendations that can take care of my problems without sticking me with work I don't need.

Finally, my car is a 1989 C4. I've got a lasting issue that my prior shop in Connecticut wasn't able to diagnose (Interlock warning light comes on when going at speed on humid/wet days). So if anyone knows some Porsche AWD specialists, that would be appreciated too.

Thanks

rennsport is not just a race shop neither is protecnik but more-so than Mike's shop. (rennsport).

Try Lawell Motor Sports too. 713-871-7400 ???? I think.
Terry Lawell is the owner and is honest to say the least.

You could also talk to Terry at Lawell Motorsports. I think their new shop is in Bellaire. Terry's a real straight shooter and he's a Porsche guy with a few Ferrari's, Bimmers, and American Hotrods thrown in for good measure.

I have been to protecnik and they have a lot more street cars getting repairs in there than race.

All and All they are good guys. I have had a good experience with them.

Will, I used to use Protechnik. Sam is hard to beat when it comes to performance. I moved to SC Repair (Chimney Rock and Highway 59) because it was close to work and home plus Cliff (the owner) makes sure works done correctly and the owner is happy. He rebuilt my engine this summer and am very happy with the job and price. Lots of good Porsche shops here in Houston.
