Oil filter / Oil tank fit

There is a clearance problem around my oil tank - the filter binds against the rubber oil tank seal. The seal won't budge - Can somebody tell me if I should be trying to push the seal back behind the sheetmetal at the bottom or pulling it out at the top? It looks like there are maybe ?two? bolts holding the oil tank tight against the body? - I hope I can loosen them up enough to move this rubber seal one way or the other. Thanks!

I tried to upload a picture but it didn't work...

Unless I'm seeing this incorrectly , I think that orientation is correct...I know it seems goofy, but I think that's OK...IIRC.

There will be two nuts on the inner side fire wall of the engine compartment. They secure the oil tank to the engine fire wall. They will be forward and above and rearward and below the opening for your oil filter. loosen these (you might have to remove) and the tank will be nearly free. move the oil tank out slightly and reposition the seal. retighten nuts. problem solved.

Thanks, jpnovak. I thought that might be all there is to it but I couldn't find any good manual pictures to show me how it is mounted. It might be hard to see in the picture, but the rubber gasket/seal is half inside and half outside - I'm going to loosen the bolts, push the bottom of it in and re-tighten. In the picture you can see where the oil filter is rubbing on the rubber - it is kind of shiny - and it tries to force the filter threads to cross-thread when replacing the filter My first valve adjustment is nearly complete!!!
