Cool 1988 M491 Coupe

Thought I would address this question to the biggest audience I am aware of

Does anyone know of a M491 Factory car with a Factory Spoiler Delete or do I have the only one in the United States?

I have all documentation showing Factory Delete at construction and bought the car from the original owner who saw it leave the line in Germany for L.A. delivery

Thanks for the help

I know of one in Montana. I think the owner used to post here, and I have some pics of it somewhere. I was considering buying it a couple years ago. GP white and factory spoiler delete on COA.

I have seen pics of a black one on the Yahoo M491 discussion group.

I have seriously thought about buying the parts to make mine a "spoiler delete" They look so cool.

Congrats on the find - I doubt you will ever run into any other M491 with the delete option even if there are more.

Hum.....very interesting, now I'm starting to wonder what it would look like without rockers and with some 15" wheels instead......

Not sure if that was how it was delivered though.

Thanks gentlemen

I may be wrong here but those are not the correct headlights for a 1988?

I'm not sure on the headlights, but is that a California License Plate

So, is this all the Spoiler Deltes in the U.S.? Is it truly one of less than five. That would be interesting.

At least, it's all the ones that Pelican know about. But there cannot be many.

Anyone have more pix of a 491

sans rear spoiler? The pic of the white car above is illustrative of the rear view so I am looking for a new perspective if anyone has pictures taken from other angles.

I have been thinking of backdating my car (mainly with reversible bolt on bolt off type mods-except for the tangerine or viper green paint-the car is gray now) but was wondering how the car would look with NO spoiler at all. I have a spare rear lid I am stripping and going to primer dark gray, mount it and then squint real hard to imagine how it would look in actual paint.

But if someone has other shots it would help my decision.
