2.2 -> 2.4 conversion
has anyone done this conversion, how difficult is it and what is required, im pretty sure that the crank is the same but i dont know much from there.

That's what's different, the crank. Same bores. USA cars had lower compression beginning with the 2.4, hence the pistons are different, too. You can get bigger P/C's and have a short stroke motor of different sizes depending on what size bore you go to. Or, you can use a 2.4 crank and rods and take the increase in compression that comes from using a 2.2 piston.
For instance, a 2.2 E motor has about 9.0:1 CR. If you use the 2.4 crank and rods, it goes to somewhere around 9.5:1. If you use T pistons (8.6:1), you get the CR approximately of an E on the 2.4 crank. Doesn't work very well the other way around (2.4 pistons on a 2.2 crank. that leads me to another question, how do i know if my car is a euro, i think it is it was brought over from naples italy in 77, the spedo is in KM. what are the differences between the us and euro verson and how can you tell.
