Designtek air ram
has anyone heard of the designtek AIR RAM
![]() the sales pitch... DesignTek performance Air ram is much less expensive and more efficient than any turbocharger, supercharger, blower, or intercooler. Its superior design increases horsepower while lowering fuel costs. More Power: Looking for more power at the wheels? Whether you have a stock or aftermarket intake system, the DesignTek performance air ram system can add up to 35 horsepower to your vehicle. Better Miles per gallon: The DesignTek performance air ram allows your engine to burn fuel more fully and efficiently, resulting in MPG gains as high as 31%. Superior Quality: The DesignTek performance air ram is made of solid stainless steel and backed by a lifetime warranty. It is guaranteed to outlast your car. The DesignTek performance air ram fins are engineered to improve combustion without restricting airflow. Because the fins do not intersect in the middle of the hose, air is allowed to flow freely into the engine. This results in improved performance and alleviates any stress on the fins themselves. How does it work? The DesignTek performance air ram system produces a swirling, fast-burn effect in the combustion chamber. This creates finer particles of atomized fuel, allowing better flame propagation and more complete combustion. The DesignTek performance air ram system non-moving vortex generator that goes inside your air intake hose, right after your air filter. It is made entirely from stainless steel, requires no maintenance, and only takes 10 minutes and a screwdriver to install. If you don't feel comfortable installing it, have your mechanic do it for you. If he doesn't install it for next to nothing, find a new mechanic. By enhancing fuel atomization, the DesignTek performance air ram system increases horsepower and fuel economy. The DesignTek performance air ram system is installed in the air intake hose, located between the throttle body and the air filter box or inside the air filter element depending on the configuration of your vehicle. Instructions for your vehicle are included with your DesignTek performance air ram system package. any thoughts?

seems like a twist on the tornado- they swirl the air as it enters intake. When we tested tornados on several cars, there did seem to be an improvement in the initial off idle and part of mid range response compared to stock. However there was no improvement when we installed them on mass flow sensor equipped cars (993, 928, etc)- the screen used to protect the hot wire element broke up the swirl effect.
Did we use any scientific method, such as a dyno, measured 0-60, etc?? NO- it was just a seat of the pants feel on a few cars 35 hp?? That is wishful thinking

I bet the only "seat of the pants feel" you would get is if you put it between the cheeks of your seat and blow.
They should sell it in a package with spitfire plugs, the cool collar, and slick 50. Now you are talking a car that makes gasoline as it drives!

You know this is how black holes get started in the universe. Don't put one on yor car or risk the neighborhood being sucked into a black hole and disppearing into outerspace.

Im sure the cool collar 'works' in that it should reduce temperatures a small amount. Small is the key word...
This thing OTOH, appears unlikely to do anything worthwhile
