Sway bars???? Whats the best set up???.
Can you guys please tell me what is the best set up and at what point it becomes overkill.
These will be going on my RSR replica STREET/TRACK car with a coilover set up in the rear, maybe the front also. Tire set up for street, maybe a 275R/ 255F . Also im trying to get the most front end bite possible. Would a big bar in the rear and a soft set up in the front make any sense? What are the opinions on the base model weltmeister 22MM bars. There pretty affordable . How adjustable are they. Also whats the opinions on the big expensive bars 23, 24MM ect TRG bars... Pay up for good ones. If you buy the Weltmeisters you'll end up wanting better ones ( I had the Welts on for 1 season and then went with Charlie Bars. )

Shouldn't you decide on your anti-roll bars after you have set your spring rates? If you have really stiff rear spring rates, you don't need a stiff rear bar. Not much help, was I?

Honestly, if your considering 31's on the front, you better be looking for the best and going through the body to get there. I wouldn't think you'd want or need that large a set of bars for a street car. It will make street bumps and potholes feel like a solid axle car nearly. OK, thats exagerating but you'll loose compliance.
If your seriously thinking "huge" bars, then I would think the hollow characteristic is going to become important. If that was simply an example, I haven't helped you a darn bit. I went with Smart just to never have to go "I wonder if" and it will allow me to change bars as components if I deem it necessary. As its been said here before, you can't cross reference the aftermarket bars since they have different leverage points in addition to different "bars".

I had advice from one of the best, Steve Weiner @ Rennport Systems-www.rennsportsystems.com. He explained the symbiosis of spring rates (torsion bars) , shock/strut compression and rebound, sway bars and their adjustments=handling. This takes into account your car's weight, types and sizes of tires, HP, and what the car is used for. Steve designed and set up a perfect system for my car-incredible, and I only had to do it once!

I just installed some of the Smart Racing bars, and they are truly a significant cut above the Weltmeister. I also race in the SCCA, so I've seen some sway bars in my day. The SRP bars are the kit. Fantastic in their quality, but the engineering and design is even better.
Super easy to install, and very adjustable. The real deal.

The Tarretts look alot like my Charlie Bars. Are they the same?

The Charlie bars are different. The Tarrets only come in one size, where the charlie bars were available in different sizes. Tarret make the bars that Elephant sells as well as the ones that Kokeln sells as well. They are great bars, but only available in one size. Very light weight well finished aluminum parts come with them as well. The SRP ones are the next step up. Like Charlie bars, the SRP ones allow changing out the bar to a different size without changing any of the hardware. But the rates overlap so much that if you pick correctly the first time I don't know that you will ever have to change the bar.....
IF dollars are a real concern, get the Welts, if you want a real quality product at a good price on are not racing for trophies and such, get the tarret ones, if you want the best at any cost, get the SRP ones. I have run all three of them on different cars and used the SRP and Tarett ones both on the current car. Cheers
