Looking for pics of rear bumper guard delete.

I know others have done this but couldnt find it searching. There was even some discussion about the lighted lisence plate bolts.
Anyone have any info on this.

Thanks

Do a search on my name and you'll find some pics of my car. Others have done it without even the rub strips. Try searching on just rear bumper or something as I know there have been several threads on this. I'm surprised nothing turned up.

Bump and a question .....

Is it just me or has the search engine changed, do not seem to be getting many matches for even the obvious threads. Any others noticed that?

Yellowbird,

Is that a fiberglass replacement? Look great!

Bumper guard delete and "lightweight" aluminum license plate frame.

Yellowbird, that is very nice. My 86 is silver, and I'd love to remove the bumpers. Where did you get the plate lights?

No, it is not fiberglass. It is the original bumper with guard delete and custom side extentions.

89911 thank you, that was the exact thread I was looking for.
Your rear bumper came out beautiful. My body man is just waiting to hear from me as to what to do about the rusted out bolts in my bumperettes.

Thanks again to all that replied, the RUf bumpers look great, the money save on the rear one can justify replacing the front.

First to do, is to fill up the attachment bolt holes with solid aluminum T6061. Next, invert the shock/bumper set up. Then, using another set of the SC/Carrera bumper extensions, whichh we previously cut to fill the accordion space. Once the flare, the bumper and the extension were lined up, we used some rivets to put together the extensions and the bumper. We used a high-tech 3M automotive glue (automix), which is a glue that sticks together steel and aluminum with the same characteristics and resistance as if they were welded.

This is the only picture I have, because the lap top where I had the other ones was stolen. Some time ago, I posted some pictures of this procedure. You can search under my posts. I hope you can find them.
