Question on center console?
 

I am about to install a later model center console in my 71. I am wondering if the is any chance of me nicking, fuel lines, or brake lines, etc... with the drill? Or do the lines not even run through the tunnel? Thanks in advance...J

I can't tell ya for sure on your 71, however when I was working on my 73t shift linkage and routing some a/c wiring to the engine compartment, I recall seeing a plastic fuel line and maybe what could have been the brake lines, don't know for sure cause I had a cold that day and when I drilled through the lines I could not smell a thing..... only kidding.

Yes, there are "lines" as I recall in the upper top
corners of the of the tunnel. Grab yourself a small inspection mirror, open the access cover to the shift linkage universal.
And also check the back side of the tunnel on the bottom of the tub by the trans.
