SSI difference(s) between SC and 3.2 ?

Hi everyone,
I am new to this board. I just bought (a week ago) a 1977 Carrera 3.0 L.
I am considering adding the SSIs but I would like to know exactly what are my options (if any) about size flange. Is it the same size between the 3.2 and SC (and 3.0 Carrera) ? If not, can I fit the "big bore" 3.2 ssi exchangers ?
Thank you in advance

Mathieu

Only difference is in the thickness of the flanges. 3.2 is thick flange and 3.0 is thin flange. You can fit the thick flange SSI's by getting longer exhaust studs.

Is there any advantage associated with the thick flange besides adding a bit more rigidity ? I would think that both systems should perform equally since they share the same internal diameter, am I correct ?
Thank you again in advance.. I spotted a pair of nice second hand SSIs so I want to be sure to take the right route !
Best,
Mathieu

No advantage that I can discern. Yes same internal diameter.
