Megasquirt help!!!

I am having a problem with my Megasquirt EFI conversion that is driving me nuts. I purchased my kit from Mike at Motomotions and he has been very helpful with trying to solve this but no luck to date. I have Megasquirt II and the problem I'm having is I can't get a good TPS signal. When setting up the ECU with software you get to a point where you calibrate the TPS settings, when you do this it is supposed to "auto populate" with a idle setting of aprox. 14-18 and a full throttle setting of aprox. 140-180. When I "auto populate" the TPS I get a reading of 14 at idle and 3 at full throttle. We have replaced the TPS sensor with no change and the relay board has been replaced and I still get the same reading. All other software downloads appear to be working correctly. I have good voltage at the relay board for both battery and switched battery and I've triple checked all wiring. I am baffled, frustrated, confused, suicidal etc. this is driving me nuts!!! If I can't get the TPS working correctly I'm going to have to try and run MAP only. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

It sounds like you have the TPS wired wrong if the value decreases as you open the throttle.

If the motomotion kit uses ITBs MAP only isnt a good idea me thinks.

MS is not limited to MAP.

Sounds like Souk and Mike will take care of you. I think TimT has the problem identified. Looks like you need to swap the two outside wires on the TPS to reverse the output values.

ya I know, then read the following

ITBs like alphaN or tps/map blend, which I know are doable with MS. MAP only with ITBs can cause one to do alot of hair pulling.

sounds like a polarity issue to me

I agree with Tim, sounds like you have two of your wires reversed. You're also not getting a very wide spread of values.
I'm still running the Tbitz setup which has custom code that eliminates the need for a TPS, but I added a GM one from a saturn in preparation for upgrading to MSII. Mine goes from about 2 or 3 at idle to about 85 at WOT. I'm not using a relay board, but that shouldn't matter.

Good luck getting things sorted out.

Right Tim. I read your post a little to quickly as I was rushing to get something out the door. I should have stated that we do not require MAP sensing.

Sorry to be off topic here, but Souk, I am going to be calling you guys about doing my 2.7 up with ITBs and Megasquirt and spark, but I have to say, I need to study up. Can anyone give me a great place to get a good bsic primer so I don't put you to sleep with basic questions?

The TPS sensor from the search I have done is from Rover/Jaguar. It has 3 terminals-ground,signal and 5 volt. The diagram that came with the TPS said the left wire was ground, the center is signal and the right is 5 volt. Mike has suggested and we have tried switching the 2 outside wires back and forth on the relay board, for those not familiar with the relay board it has a "buss bar" type setup so it's easy to move/switch wires but still the same readings. I can think of no reason that the wires have to be swapped at the TPS sensor but maybe I'm wrong. Souk I very much appreciate all the help Mike has provided and maybe between the two of you we can get this solved. I have nothing but praise for you guys, the quality of the components and your customer appreciation, I just am frustrated that my cars not running. Thanks everyone I'll keep posting results.
