dansk sport vs Dansk stock
I have dual SSIs and a 3.0 ltr SC.
I'm thinking of replacing my Bursch with a Dansk as the drone on long trips is getting annoying. Is Dansk sport duel in single out going to be much louder than dual in single out Dansk "stock"? If I go with the quieter muffler will I feel a drop in power? Has anyone done comparative dyno and sound work? |

I have owned a Dansk "stock" 2in/1out and a Dansk sport 2in/2out, on my '76 2.7. The stock is quite mild, no resonance. The sport is louder (maybe due to the 2out), but not objectionably so. If you can wait, go to a PCA autocross and listen for yourself.

No objective data to provide. I have SSIs with a Danske sport dual in, single out (also stainless). My wrench said it was good for a couple more hp - but don't expect miracles. I love the sound under full throttle, but on long trips I don't find it annoying at all -its rather mellow - not droning and wearing. I lived for a year with a loud muffler for a year, and this is no loud muffler when cruising.

I just did this over the summer(converted to ssi's and a dansk on my 83 sc). I went with the 2 in one out dansk,
-it's not loud, I think it sounds really nice, great 911 air sucking in/mechanical noise. if it's louder than stock I cant tell, but it's not "loud", and no resonance at all, so it's great for longer trips. |

I have a Dansk 2 in 2 out (center) on my 72T. Yes it is a different engine than a 3.0 but, the sound is pretty nice. I was originally disappointed that it was not loud enough inside the car. There is definitely no drone. Outside the car it sounds very nice.
I have a sound clip of the car at rest if you'd like to hear it. Don

For those of you considering a 2out and are afraid of cutting the valance (as I was)...don't be afraid. Measure the left side carefully and mark the side to be cut on masking tape. It's a straight line. I cut mine with a jig saw, filed and sanded the edge smooth and hand painted the edge.

TwoBone,
I too have the SSI's and Dansk Sport on an SC, and it's awesome. It's louder than stock for sure, but not ricer-folger-can loud. It sounds great at full trottle, and I don't really notice it on long trips. I don't have a comparison to the Dansk stock though... Good luck with your choice.
