How to Remove this interior panel?

How do I remove this leather panel that is on the rear door jamb (the tan leather one)? It looks like it's glued...

Thank you!

Yeah you are correct it is glued on there. It is a otough job to get it off without ripping it too. You might want to try heating it a little to see if it'll come off a little more smoothly.

I don't even think it's a panel... just leather wrapped over some foam and glued on.

Yep, the leather is just wrapped around that panel. I just recovered mine a couple months ago. If you pull the door seal off in that area, you'll see the edge of the material. There is a really thin piece of foam under the leather that will most likely tear.

To be clear, the panel itself should be a piece of sheet metal. The trim (leather or vinyl), as others have pointed out, is glued on. That's the way it is on my 993 anyway and the way I seem to recall from my '87.

It was a metal panel on my 87, spot welded on if I recall.

But the sheet metal in this case is not removable.
Try using an old gasket scraper to cut the foam without stretching/tearing the leather piece. If you aren't removing door rubber try to start the removal from the other side(need to remove panel around rear seat belt assy, I think), the leather doesn't go that far under the rubber.
