Alternative source for flywheel bolt socket?
Hello,
I have had Pelican part , PEL-TOL-1170, (12-Point/12mm Flywheel Bolt Socket Tool, 1/2-inch Drive) on backorder for one month now. I try to buy everything from Pelican, but I need to get this project done soon. Is it possible to buy this tool from an auto parts store or other source? If so, are alternatives as good as the Pelican part? Thanks, Martin |
I happened to see a Matco tool truck around the corner from my office. I knocked on his door and viola...I now have the tool. It was $35 and made very well.

You can use the following as an alternative....available at most autoparts stores such as CarQuest, NAPA, Autozone, etc. The entire set of 4 has a suggested retail of only $13.95

3-square or 12-point sets can be bought at the FLAPS for about $13. I got a set from AutoZone once (4 different sizes for $13!) Murray's has them too. I always stroll the isles when I have to go to the store...you never know when you need something fast and need to know where to get it :)
