"Sorry, no pics."
- some old threads had the entire set up pictured - it'll be a few years ago -- not a hard thing get a spare brake cap and drill a hole for a fitting that the hose attaches to; hose goes to sprayer pump and you're done unless you want a gauge in line |
This doesn't help Jeff but I've had the Mityvac for years, easily 50 jobs use and still going strong.

Before building a homemade bleeder consider if the time (find a sprayer, find hose, find the fittings, find an extra reservoir cap, etc.) required is worth the $40 or $50 saved.
|
A good point... but consider the interest in redying the heater knobs red with a several hour RIT dye procedure... for a $7 part. Plenty of crazies would smelt their own ore and build their own forge just to make a metal part...

I've tried the Mighty-Vac and found it sucks air throught the threads of the bleeder screw; the majority of vacum (from bleeder) methos is air going through the threads. You never know when all air has been removed from the system.
I've found the Motive to be the best, followed by the the pump and crack(bleeder screw)method. j.p. |
I agree with JimSims. I've had plenty of projects that I tried to DIY when a cheap simple solution was available only to end up spending alot of time and not saving much money. How about the time you tried to fix it yourself only to make it worse? I remember a couple of carb rebuilds ending up that way.
