3.2 Strut Differences

PET lists 2 different Boge outer struts and inserts for the 3.2 carrera one set that also covers 911's from 1972 upto the 3.2's to 85 the others 86 - 89. What is the difference between the outer struts and are the inserts for the two interchangeable. The reason I ask is that I purchased 2 new boge inserts for boge strut 1972 - 85 that have only 40 miles on them so far. My car unfortunatly has M caliper spacing but im wanting to upgrade to 3.2 calipers and disks. If I want to keep my new inserts am I limited to finding a strut and caliper/disk setup from and 84 or 85 or will my inserts fit in the later 86 - 89 strut.

Thanks Steve

I *think* the differences are that one style has an inside thread...and the other has an outside thread...on the top of the main shock body. Naturally, the top screw-in piece will be differrent , too..to accommodate this.

Wil is right.....again :)

You will need to get the 84-85 struts for those inserts.
