Checklist for installation of 3.2 into 69 911

Checklist for installation of 3.2 into 69 911

Here is what I have so far:

1. 69 911 (engine removed)
2. 3.2 spare motor (recently rebuilt)
3. 901 tranny still in the car

Do you have a checklist/ parts list to make this a one day job?

Thank you.

Check out Marc's web site it has almost all the information you are asking.

Couldn't be done in one day ... even with six months of preparation!!!

You need to consider a 915 transaxle transplant ... to mate a 3.2 to a 901 takes a custom-made flywheel, and lots of other 'bits' be done as well!

Electrical work -- preparations and modifications to wiring harnesses ... could take a couple of days, even with pictures and instructions!

A month or two of weekend work is a much more rerasonable estimate.

I'm in the process of installing a 3.2 in my 73 911T and I can tell you that your gonna need an external oil cooler, replace the fuel pump and lines, upgrade the tach, etc...

Yeah, it's gonna be quite a few weekends of work.

If you don't have a hi flow cone air filter/ adapter duct PM or call me and I can provide you with it at racer-net cost. This filter kit replaces the big black airbox and frees up lots of space . Avail in Blu Red Blk...red makes more bhp!

You are asking for something that is undocumented here. That doesnt mean it cant be done.

Marq's site above is probably the most complete resource there is at the moment but it wont help you much with a '69.

Search my old posts for '3.2 AND swap' for what Ive learned about doing the swap into a '72. Ive listed a lot of part numbers and real costs as Ive worked on mine.

Electrical system and the gearbox will be your biggest challenges. Big $$$ fuel system and oil cooling changes will be required. Its a lot more expensive and a lot more work than it seems.

Start reading old posts, posting pictures, and asking questions.

good luck.
