Deck lid Porsche letters

Hi,

I have a late ´73 911E Targa. The car has no PORSCHE letters on the rear deck lid. Was there ever a Script Delete option available ?
I ask because I bought the car from the 2nd owner, he owned it since ´81 and the car is fully documented. He told me the deck lid is original and it looks absolutely original to me with the proper license lights etc. The light holes are perfectly done and look like factory holes.

Also the car is build in the transition time Longhood to G-Model so maybe there were already parts from the 74 model around ?
