What are these wires?

On my '86 911, there are two wires by the cruise control vacuum thingy. What are they supposed to be hooked up to? One is brown (ground) One is red. They both have spade connectors on them.

I don't recall having those same wires on my '86 harness. Wonder if they were for the optional rear wiper?

I was wondering about those 2 wires also - I have them left over after my 3.6 conversion and couldnt work out what they used to be hooked up to.

I was thinking that it might have been the coil since it was mounted in that area.....

I have them also, unhooked. I was thinking wiper, or maybe snorkel brake light, but they didn't have those in 86 did they?

I guess it's time for the test light to come out. I wonder about the wiper. If anybody has a rear wiper on their Carrera, look and see if these wires hook up to it, ok. Thanks. It would probably help all of us out.

Yes they are for the rear wiper, but to make it work you need to run a hot wire from the engine comp fuse box and also a ground..

Porsche Crest Rear wiper motor

For the rear wiper motor there are 4 wires, brown (ground) , red (always hot) and the other two wires do get power when the ignition is on and the rear wiper switch is on.

Can get a picture in the morning if you want.

Kees.
