Body Restoration/Paint Work Needed-Central FL-Who To Use?

I’m looking to have some body and paint work done to my 356. It’s hard to find someone these days who takes PRIDE in their work. Also it would be nice to have someone work on the car that is familiar with it. There is not much body work that needs to be done but there is some. I plan on bringing it down to a rolling chassis and painting it a different color too. I don’t mind spending the money that it takes to do the job correctly but I hear so many horror stories when it comes to this kind of work. Can any make any solid recommendation of who to use, or who to stay away from.

Thanks
R

There's a guy in orlando who did a super job for a friend of mine's 65C, $5000 for a whole repaint + rubber. Not bad at all !

I don't remember the shop's name but it's in orlando and don't want to give my friend's email out on a public forum though, so either PM me or ask again on the 356-talk list (his name's Karim).

Sid Collins at Troy Sport does a lot of work on 356's. Not sure if he does body work, but he should be able to point you in the right direction.

Give Gary Stratton of Stratton Motorsports a call. The shop is off Fairbanks Ave. in Winter Park and we're working on a 356 right now. The car was really rough when it got to the shop and if you would like to see what his work looks like, now would be the time. Also, before the final spray goes on we'll be putting a 4 wheel disc brake package on it from a 944.
His cell number is (407) 629-1911.
Regards,
Steve E

356

There is an article in excellance I believe, not that long ago, about a guy in the west florida area (maybe panhandle) that did resto's on the 356's... very good article if memory serves.. might be worth hunting it down and contacting him, or you could check with a 356 registry.. you know the saying about changing colors though..
